Apple soon is going to release its foldable phones. According to a Bank of America analyst quoted in a report, the next major redesign of the iPhone will come in the form factor of a foldable. The report notes that Apple may already be working with suppliers to create the new phone, which is going to be released by the end of the year 2020.
Apple is working on a foldable iPhone, that doesn’t mean we’ll see it in 2020 — or anytime after that. There is also a rumor that Samsung is also working on a foldable device for a while, and rumors suggest it may be released to the public by the end of this year. If it is going to be successful, then Apple likely won’t want to be far behind.

OLED displays are large to thank for the rise of the foldable concept phone because they’re made up of small pixels. Apple has even started adopting the displays which are OLED enabled; the new iPhone X has one.
In the year 2016, Apple has signed a patent for a foldable device. The patent highlighted the use of an OLED display and had a clamshell form factor. Given that, it’s possible that the phone could end up just like similar to the ZTE Axon M, a dual-screen device that folds out so it can be used like only one big screen. The Axon M is a little inelegant, however, so if Apple’s device does mimic ZTE’s design, so we can expect the Apple device to be more refined.

A foldable iPhone is going to be a very interesting product. The Bank of America analyst suggested that the device could be folded for both iPhone and iPad. Many consider the foldable design to be the next major change in smartphone technology. Not only could such a device offers larger displays, effectively rendering tablets useless, but it could also fold into smaller shapes that are easier to carry and much more portable.
