Baba Ramdev is extending his Ayurvedic and Yogic gesture towards Cannabis
India is the land where Gods are believed to reside, and they are considered to be prevalent in every nook and corner. Even the plants? Well, yes, without discrimination. But what’s peculiar here is the plethora of blessings showered even on the potent hallucinators or addictive plants. One of them is ‘marijuana’ or Cannabis, and given the festivities and history of their overuse, it’s banned in India. But now our loved Yogi Baba Ramdev is extending his Ayurvedic and Yogic gesture towards Cannabis and in a recent video, Patanjali backed up the benefits of Cannabis well.
Since ages, we have used these psychoactive substances in our daily life, in one form or the other. No full Bengali meal is complete without the use of poppy seeds, the Khas drink or their usage as natural air conditioners, Cannabis has stayed with us in one form or another. The hemp seed diet and even the oil is miraculous and improves the skin and health in a very less span of time. Numerous research on Cannabis and its parts which can be used in medicines and treatment of many a genetic disorder has been conducted over the years across the globe. What’s surprising is, though it has been indigenous to India, it has lagged far behind in the verified research. But again, Baba Ramdev has drawn his mountain pose for research on it.
As stated by the CEO of Patanjali, Acharya Balkrishna, the parts of Cannabis has been used in Ayurveda and ancient medicines since ages, and, now, we should look after the benefits and positive uses of the plant. Anything in moderation is always beneficial. The hemp seeds are extremely rich in protein and are often used by vegan bodybuilders, it has about half a dozen more Omega-3 than Tuna, it contains a number of trace minerals and all kinds of amino acids. It is also used in a number of sedatives, painkillers, and in cosmetics. In fact, its anti-clogging and anti-tanning properties are unmatched. The only reason it faced inhibition and mass disapproval was its wrong use. But, as Patanjali stresses on its benefits at this moment, backed up by both Patanjali and Baba Ramdev as brands, the nation is likely to witness certain changes.
Some notable Hemp benefits are:
