Angels have a new address: Delhi Helpost!
For so long we have been relying on Google as a source to answering our queries. Sadly, this process lacks a personal touch. Delhi Helpost is one such platform that brings real people to solve your problem.
The site is an active attempt by people of Delhi to show their humane side of the Society. These good samaritans assemble resources and methodologies to help people in dire need. There exists a number of angels who respond to your single post for help and have been instrumental in avoiding hassle faced by the general populace.
This leads to a question: Are we really social on social media?
The open source platform given by these social media platforms evoke emotions that would have earlier been negated. People today openly express their distaste and dislike. Then there exist social media stars who grab our FB wall with their selfies and travelogues. Somewhere in between this milieu lies a small call for help. Ignored for being boring these receive few views. Thus the actual pain and central idea of being Social beings get defeated easily.
The group has been providing direct blood donation. Thus when an emergency, consult the group. Without any cause, you get connected to the human nature easily. The group is above any regional or religious demarcation. This means any and all information is just a post away.
A few good people like Delhi Helpost and Aasra foundation are taking strides in this case. Aasra foundation in association with Deepika Padukone (herself a depression survivor) is taking giant leaps in the identification of suicide cases and overcoming social stigma and indifference. Surely none of us wants to be labelled as Callous. Right?
Delhi Helpost is an attempt to build peer to peer help networks (called as chapters) to facilitate the building of relationships. Such symbiotic relationship is instrumental in providing employment and relief to the people of Delhi.
These are also active in cities like Chandigarh, Patiala and Pune. With their help, these otherwise large cities have become more human-friendly. With the influx of intercity migrants, this group has been useful in providing boarding, finding PG accommodation and settling into an otherwise indifferent city.
By reducing the gap between people in problem and troubleshooters, the group is offering silent help to the city residents. With their creative talent, the group has solved the mystery of serving humanity and has given youth the credit they truly deserve for their efforts. Not all groups are money minting after all!
Posts that are commonly found in the group include room rentals, job opportunity, designing help as well as a home improvement! So this is perhaps the modern era directory.
From F.A.R.T magazine, we offer our sincere thanks to the group for acting as the first help for the mag. Also a big thanks to the members and administrators who are making a supreme example of dedication to social welfare.
As a part of this initiative, we call on all members of the group to join us at F.A.R.T magazine to express a big thank you by signing an online signature campaign and sharing the experience with the group.
Truly, humanity survives the rat race of success. Hats off to the volunteers of the group towards a selfless social network.
