SUVs are the flavour of the season, and even the world’s first ever luxury carmaker, Rolls-Royce, has launched its own SUV in the market. Meet the first SUV car of Rolls-Royce Cullinan that made its global launch on last Wednesday. The price tag: $325,000 which is roughly around Rs 2.27 crore exclusive of GST. In India, it is expected to be at the price tag of around Rs 7 crore, ex-showroom.
The Rolls-Royce Cullinan will compete directly with the likes of the Bentley Bentayga and the Lamborghini Urus. It reeks of opulence as a Rolls-Royce should. It is considerably bigger than the Bentayga, and is based on the Rolls-Royce Phantom. The car rides on 22-inch wheels.
The interiors of the Rolls-Royce Cullinan is similar as just like the Phantom. It can be ordered in two options of leather and wood upholstery combinations which ranges from white to a dark black, with red, tan and brown in between.
The rear seats in the Cullinan, as in all Rolls-Royce cars, is built for more comfort. It comes with suicide doors as well, that open backwards to facilitate entry and exit with an ease, especially for women having the flowing dresses. It rides on a fully adjustable air-suspension with automatic ride control with dual airbags.
The Rolls-Royce Cullinan has a powerful massive engine of 6.75 litre, 12-cylinder (V-12) twin-turbo petrol motor that puts out 571 bhp of power and 850 Nm of torque with a selectable all-wheel drive terrain-response system. The user will get a simple ‘off-road’ button that takes care of everything.
In India the Rolls-Royce Cullinan is going to be available by the end of 2018. The Rolls-Royce of SUVs, as it has been called by the company has taken three years to finally roll out since it was first announced.
