The launch of the brand close to the ECOSYSTEM- LIVA ECO
Liva by Birla Cellulose has launched LIVA ECO which has Kangana Ranaut as the Brand Ambassador. They say it is eco-friendly. FART Magazine finds more about the raiment.
The WEIRD Side of Clothing
The more comfortable the clothing gets, there can be side-effects which are not manifested but is still eating up the whole earth slowly. Cotton is one of the well sold fabric among casuals, shockingly it is considered to be the dirtiest crop in the world. Why so? Because it uses 16% of the world’s pesticides. Bare truth! Ingredients of pesticides are nitrates and phosphates, mainly. The all possibility for these to leak into the stream systems surrounding the cropland is inexorable. These contribute to the water eutrophication, that can cause the oxygen to deplete thus making the plant survival impossible. And these are where SUSTAINABLE FABRIC has real importance.
Really SUSTAINABLE, WEIRD!
Calling it WEIRD in a very positive way. The idea of the sustainable clothing makes us question the manufacturers, because of the doubts of its least possibility. NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE, they say. Putting across the facts:
1. The Fabric absorbs 100gm of Carbon dioxide,
2. Saves 17 buckets of water per garment,
3. Needs only one-sixth of land compared to cotton’s requirement, thus gaining more land for food cultivation,
4. Degrades four times faster
Ultimately, FASHION isn’t that weird all the time!
Kangana Ranaut says, “Liva Eco gives me the satisfaction that it is helping in preserving environment, through a highly sustainable, reasonable and an eco-friendly yet fashionable way.”
